Vacation is when we get back all those long hours we have to spend apart. Traveling is when we are just us: experiencing something we are both passionate about together. Travel is an adventure: sometimes you take wrong turns, eat bad food, talk to unhelpful or questionable people, use an insulting word in Spanish, make an unfortunate excursion choice. But if you didn't do any of that, where is the sense of uncertainty that makes travel so exciting? That's why we travel right? To see what we are unsure of - to fulfill our natural curiousity about our world. I was glancing through the backup hard drives we have that house many of our photos. I thought (mostly for myself) that I would make a group out of them. These are not all the trips we have taken, but I dare say they are our favorites. First, of course, must be the first trip we took together: our honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.
In December of our first year of marriage, we started a bad habit: cruising. We were looking for an inexpensive vacation to take around Christmas time and found a cruise leaving from Charleston, SC. We went, and oh did we have fun! It confirmed in our minds that cruising was the way to go on vacation. This cruise stopped in Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Key West.
