Marc and I are getting better at finding good places to eat. I whipped out my handy-dandy iPhone and chose my Yelp application. Yelp is a great resource for finding things to do, see, or eat wherever you are. The Yelp in San Francisco is used pretty heavily, so you are usually assured of having updated information. The best thing about Yelp is that it's free. Zagat is great, but it costs money so fewer people use it, and therefore you get fewer opinions and options.
I looked up "Italian" in Sausalito and Cafe DiVino got great reviews. We found it (again, using an iPhone app for directions), and once we found parking, walked right in to a nice little table in the back. They had a live jazz band there, so the front of the house was terribly crowded. Since we didn't need to watch the band, we were able to have a table in the back room where we could still hear the music, but could also hear each other talk.
I will include the food review here since I didn't take pictures at the restaurant and the website for the restaurant is down. My rule is that I don't take pictures of food that costs more than $10 a plate - or that's served in a more romantic setting. I think it's disrespectful. Anyway - I got the ravioli filled with mushrooms (very uncharacteristic of me) and Marc got the lasagna. We ended up splitting them. Both were excellent! The sauces really made both dishes and we both scraped our plates clean!
It was a great day and a nice night together. I love weekends in California!
