While I love to read at home, there is just too much beauty outside near our home for me to sit on my bed and read. I have decided that Crissy Fields is my favorite place within walking distance to read. It takes me about 7-10 minutes walking to get to nice benches along the beach where I have an amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge and Marin County.
Crissy Fields used to be part of the Presidio - a military point for the San Francisco Bay. During the mid-1900s, the city converted the area back into an ecological preserve. It became a great recreation area and has a leash-free policy for dogs, which I think is awesome. It is so fun to watch the dogs chase their frisbees and balls into the Bay and be able to run around and play leash-free.
Along with being a great place to bring your dog, Crissy Fields has trails to run and bike on. I like to run down there because you get such a beautiful view to enjoy while you are working hard.
