-- I asked him and he just said he was thankful for me. I think he may have wanted me to stop asking. I'll take it.
-- My patient, understanding husband who has supported me through one of the most difficult changes in my life. Who encourages me to be a more godly woman, a better wife, daughter, sister and employee. I love him so.
-- Having a job. Everyday I get up and no matter how I feel, I am so, so thankful to have a job to go to. I recognize that there are people who cannot find work and I do not take it for granted.
-- My family. Both my parents and my in-laws have been great at keeping in touch with us during this first six months of separation. They have supported us in our huge life-change and have been praying for us the whole time.
-- Our church. I am overwhelmed at how much I love being part of Christ Church San Francisco. The community there is so encouraging to us as a young couple and has been essential in our transition to the city. We have grown in Christ there, and have learned a lot about what it means to be part of a growing, vibrant church body.
-- Our friends: both here and elsewhere. We really have some great friends and they mean so much to us. I really miss my friends in SC and in PA. I'm so, so grateful for the new friends we've made here. Wow. I can not even begin to express how terrified I was about making new friends but we've been truly blessed.
-- The entire experience of moving cross-country. On December 6, it will have been 6 months since we moved here. I have learned more about myself in the last six months and it has been a priceless experience. It happened fast and was such a big change, but I love it here. I get overwhelmed on my commute home at how much I love this place and how thankful I am we get to live here. When you know you're in the center of God's will, you will be joyful and content.
What are you thankful for? Take some time to write it out. It's different than when you say it. We should be doing this reflecting often in prayer, but we don't. Take this time at Thanksgiving and celebrate how blessed you are.
