Marc says I have to qualify beforehand that this trip was not technically a road trip. He says a road trip is where you drive a long way and stop at different places along the way and stay in more than one hotel.
But I don't really like to do that, so this counts. We did make one stop along the way - a very important one, at that.
For Memorial Day Weekend, Marc and I set off to San Luis Obispo to have a mini-getaway and celebrate our fourth anniversary. We got off to a late start Friday because Marc ended up having some work to do. But it was probably better because I was able to rest a little more. Tuesday of that week I came down with strep throat - job hazard. But finally around 3 we set out on our trip.
I was armed with meds and ready for the trip:
But sometimes you just need a fast food fix. This was one of those times.
So we had to wait another half hour before we found another one. Can you believe that?
Then we found one on the southern edges of San Jose. We stopped. And we drove through.
Right there in the car.
Biggest Loser style.
(P.S. The Double-Double is Marc's...not mine. Promise.)
Then we were full, and happy. And armed thus with processed meat and freshly cut french fry wonderfulness, we continued our journey.
Marc really hates it when I take photos of him while he's driving.
So I did it anyway.
We hit a decent bit of traffic that slowed us down for a good hour.
But I had my iPad2 and a good CD and I was super excited.
And maybe too medicated. Possibly. Because I'm not usually not in that good of a mood when we're in traffic.
But eventually we got out of the traffic and had smooth driving until we reached our destination.
